She’s dangerous. She’s your best friend and knows all your secrets.

Stephanie is a widow, blogger, and a mom to her 5-year-old son Miles. Nicky is Mile’s best friend and the son of Emily. One rainy Friday, Emily asks Stephanie if she wants to come over and the rest is history. That Friday begins a friendship that Stephanie desperately craved. One day Emily asks Stephanie for a simple favor and everything changes. Emily doesn’t come to pick Nicky up and disappears. At first, the police and Emily’s husband, Sean, think that she ran off and will come back eventually, but then a body is found.

Emily is dead.

The nightmare of her disappearance should be over, but it becomes clear that
it is not over, it is just beginning.

I broke my own rule and saw the movie before I read the book. So I already knew what was going to happen when it came time to read it, but I still enjoyed the book. While I was reading, I kept comparing it to the movie and I honestly found myself liking the movie more. There were some differences between the two, and I think the movie played out better. However, I would still recommend both- just read the book BEFORE the movie!

Happy Reading!
