Great Wolf Lodge: Scottsdale, AZ

03

This year we celebrated my husband’s 32nd birthday in style at The Great Wolf Lodge in Scottsdale, AZ. And we ended up starting a new family tradition!

The Great Wolf Lodge is AMAZING!!! It’s supposed to be a kid’s playground but us adults had just as much fun!! The lodge also shares a parking lot with one of the Spring Training Fields. So we decided every year when the Cubbies are playing in AZ we are planning a vacation to The Great Wolf Lodge. The dads can watch baseball and the mom & kiddos can have a blast at the lodge!

What really stood out to us during out stay, is their customer service. Before our flight even landed the day we were to check in, I received a text message welcoming us and asking if we needed anything! I responded back that we arrived early if an early check in was available and reminded them about the birthday package I ordered for my husband (more on that later). She responded back our room will be ready by the time we got there! How amazing is that?! We were also able to text this number any time we needed anything during our stay!! What a first class service!!!

The second we arrived, we entered a complete FUN ZONE! At the entrance was a socially distanced reading time, there was a gift shop off to the left, and check in to the right. The check in staff was just as amazing and provided us with our “room keys” which are these arm bands! The arm bands open the hotel door AND you can pay for anything in the resort with them!!!

We made our way up the elevator and checking into our Wolf Den Suite. The second Addy saw the room she was in AWE!! She was running around like crazy, talking to the animals painted on the wall, and just having a blast!!!

The room was decorated for Chad’s birthday with balloons, a stuffed animal (that Addy stole), a HUGE birthday cake, and a credit to the arcade! Walking in there was a closet nook where we can hang our clothes, put our shoes, and store our luggage. To the right was a bathroom with the toilet and shower and then a few steps ahead in the room was the vanity. I LOVE this idea!! The mirror and sink was outside of the bathroom so Chad could shower and I could get ready! SO MUCH EASIER!! A little ways past it was Addy’s area. It had a bunk bed in this closed in nook with a TV. Giving the kids privacy while still being in the same room as the parents.

Wolf Den Suite (Standard)

We loved the nook because we put her pack n play in there and it was dark enough at night that we could watch TV without waking her! GAME CHANGER! Our room was decorated like a cabin with a comfortable Queen Size Bed, couch, table off to the corner, another TV, and then a dresser with a coffee maker and mini-fridge! ANDDDDD the TV had NETFLIX!!! We weren’t stuck watching local cable channels. So Addy’s nap time and winding down for bed we were able to catch up on our shows. (Because believe me, nap times in hotels without Netflix is seriously awful.)

The Wolf Den Suite includes a queen-size bed and full-size sofa sleeper in the main area. Kids love the built-in wolf’s den featuring with bunk beds and a TV.
Suite features:
Cave-themed sleeping area with bunk beds and a 15-inch TV
Queen-size bed
Full bath
Full-size sofa sleeper
32-inch TV
Internet
Mini-fridge
Coffee maker
Hairdryer

The room had everything we needed and more! We quickly changed our clothes and freshened up after our flight to get ready to explore. The first thing on our list was visiting Build-A-Bear. I think I was the most excited for Addy to build a baby! She just loves her stuffed animals so I knew her making her own was going to be so special. It totally exceeded my expectations. The staff was SO friendly and it was such a fun experience. They made it COVID friendly by showcasing what stuffed animals were available but a staff member grabbed it for you and then helped you through the stuffing process. This was great because we knew her baby would be cleaned and not grabbed by a ton of hands throughout the day!

After getting Addy a baby at Build-A-Bear for being SO good on the flight here, we explored the Lodge. OMG we were so overwhelmed because there was SO MUCH TO DO!! Ben & Jerrys, Dunkin Donuts, Candy Store, Convenience Store, Pizza Shop, Food Truck, Zip Line Obstacle Course, Rock Wall, Bowling, Mirror Maze, Wizard Quest, Mini Golf, Bowling, Full Restaurant, and of course- THE MASSIVE WATER PARK!

Where to begin?!

Our goal for this weekend was to accomplish as much as possible!

I conquered the Rock Climbing wall which was AMAZING and addicting!!! You can see the proof here.

We took Addy through the mirror maze and had a wonderful dinner at the Barnwood Restaurant where we had incredible cocktails and a delicious meal! After dinner we treated ourselves to Ben & Jerrys and went ALL OUT!! Celebrating my husbands birthday called for a foodie celebration!

The next morning we treated ourselves to Dunkin Donuts and then enjoyed a fun day at the water park!

We made so many memories our weekend at The Great Wolf Lodge and everywhere we turned was a new activity and adventure. Addy was in total awe the entire time and us parents had just as much fun. My husband and I are so excited for our next adventure and we can’t wait to come back next year! Addy will be even older when we go back and the magic will only grow!!

XOXO,
