I am so excited to announce our 3rd Annual Holiday Fundraiser!
What started in 2019 as an off the whim idea has truly turned into something incredible and life changing. I am so honored to be hosting a holiday fundraiser for a 3rd year and none of this would be even remotely possible without YOU.
If you are new here, every year Picking Daisies hosts a holiday fundraiser to largely impact the lives of others. In 2019 (our first year) we raised over $15,000 in holiday gifts + baby products for families with babies admitted in one of the largest NICU centers in California. You can view the media coverage HERE
Last year, we DOUBLED our donations and raised over $30,000 in holiday gifts + necessities for the families being protected and sheltered at the Marjorie Mason Center which is a domestic violence shelter for women and children. These donations went directly to those in the shelter and included very gifts and even computers for the children distant learning. It was our largest fundraiser yet.
This year I am hoping we can keep on trend with DOUBLING our donations. I am proud to announce this years fundraiser is for Breaking The Chains.
BREAKING THE CHAINS:
Breaking The Chains is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization located in California’s Central San Joaquin Valley. They work with local, state, and federal law-enforcement agencies to Provide Hope, Healing, and Restoration to lives impacted by Human Trafficking.
I was invited to walk their amazing campus and the work they do and the victims they impact has left a mark on me.The Breaking The Chains campus is a remarkable example of our community’s dedication to help juvenile and adult victims exit re-occurring systems of exploitation.
Breaking The Chains operates a beautiful safe house that provides long term shelter to lives impacted by human trafficking, a trauma treatment center that is equipped with an executive office, reception area, counseling offices, a large class room/recreation area, childcare center, and a gym, a law enforcement focused operations center, ER shelter, mobile command unit, and newly opened rural community offices.
All of their stellar trauma informed services and evidence based curriculums are manned by an army of volunteers, and more than a 12 paid staff members. This allows them to offer trauma informed services on a daily basis to more than 40 survivors through our non-residential service program. In all they provide direct trauma informed services to 75 survivors and their family’s everyday.
Please know that community support has been, and continues to be essential to all that they do, and we believe that together we can break the chains of human trafficking in the lives of these precious survivors forever.
