If I had to describe these books by a phrase it would be, “Holy crap!”
I was at Target one night with my husband, and I needed a book that wasn’t creepy since he was going to be out of town. I decided to pick up Crazy Rich Asians (I wanted to buy all three, but my husband told me I should wait to see if I liked it or not). From the first page, I knew that I had to buy the other two, which I did the next day.
The night that I was home alone, I laid in bed for 3 hours engrossed in the story. You get wrapped up in the insane lifestyle, secrets, and scandals.
I can’t relate to the extravagant lifestyle they live, but it was fun getting caught up in it and pretending. The detail which the author went into about the clothes, jewelry and houses made it easy to picture in my mind.
In the front of the first and third book, there is a family tree to help you keep track of all the family members (which I might have looked at more than a few times). It also had footnotes throughout each book, which helped you understand the story a lot better.
It’s been a few days since I finished the last book and I am still feeling sad that I’m done with them.
I highly recommend going to grab the trilogy before you watch the movie (if you haven’t seen it already)! Stay tuned for a comparison of the two.
LAST BUT NOT LEAST: HEAD OVER TO @PICKINGDAISIES INSTAGRAM FOR A CHANCE TO WIN ALL 3 BOOKS!
Happy Reading!
