Trump Hotel & Tower Chicago Review

Celebrating Addy’s 5th Birthday

This past weekend, we headed to Chicago to celebrate a very special occasion—Addy’s 5th birthday. We chose Trump Hotel Chicago for our stay, and let me just say, it did not disappoint. Here’s a rundown of our experience, from the amazing service to the comfy and kid-friendly accommodations, all set in the heart of downtown Chicago.

Walking into Trump Hotel Chicago, you feel the elegance right off the bat, but it’s the warm welcome that really sets the tone. The staff greeted us like we were old friends, which made us feel right at home. Curtis, part of the concierge team, was particularly amazing. He went out of his way to make Addy’s day special, surprising her with balloons and cookies in our room.

Speaking of our room, it was more than just a place to sleep. Thanks to the Trump Kids program, it was transformed into a little girl’s fairy-tale kingdom. They had set up a fairy and castle playset that made Addy’s eyes sparkle with excitement. The room itself was spacious with a view of the city that was just incredible, especially at night with all the lights. It’s these thoughtful touches that made our stay so memorable.

The hotel didn’t just impress with its rooms and dining. The espresso bar near the elevators became our quick morning stop before heading out for the day’s adventures. For the adults, the spa was a haven of relaxation, a perfect escape after a day of birthday activities. They had a full fitness center overlooking Downtown Chicago that my husband snuck off to every morning before we started our day.

Location-wise, Trump Hotel Chicago is a gem. Right in the middle of downtown, it was super easy to walk to so many iconic spots. The Museum of Ice Cream was a short walk away, which was a blast. The American Girl Store was just a quick drive which we used the hotels complimentary car drop off service for and then walked back!

Dining at Trump Hotel Chicago

During our stay at Trump Hotel Chicago, dining became one of the highlights of our trip. The hotel boasts several dining options, each with its unique flair, but we spent most of our meal times at Terrace 16. It’s not just a restaurant; it’s a destination in itself.

Terrace 16, located on the 16th floor, offers a stunning backdrop of the Chicago River and the city’s iconic skyline. The restaurant’s vibrant atmosphere is matched by a diverse menu that caters to all ages and tastes. For breakfast, the fluffy pancakes were a hit with Addy, while the evenings offered everything from gourmet burgers to exquisitely prepared steaks.

For a more relaxed vibe, we popped into Rebar, the hotel’s chic lounge on the mezzanine level. Known for its innovative cocktails and sophisticated small plates, Rebar is a great spot to unwind and enjoy the city lights from its vast windows. The lounge’s modern decor and laid-back elegance make it a perfect spot for parents to steal away for a cocktail while the kids are happily tucked in bed under the watchful eye of a babysitter. (The perfect reason to bring grandparents!! Haha)

The real highlight was seeing how much fun Addy had all weekend. Whether it was playing in her fairy-tale room, exploring the city, or enjoying her special birthday meals, the joy on her face said it all.
