Vista Collina Resort: A Real Life Winter Wonderland in Napa Valley

We had the opportunity to come back to one of my FAVORITE resorts in the world- Vista Collina in Napa Valley. I have written about them before and if you missed those blog posts you can check them out here and here.

Vista Collina Resort, is a resort like no other…acres of sun-soaked hillside vineyards. Beautiful accommodations near downtown Napa top things to do, paired with luxurious amenities. Indulgent spa treatments in the serenity of an underground Estate Cave. The best of Napa Valley’s legendary wineries only moments away. The Vista Collina Resort blends relaxed elegance with warm hospitality to bring you the ultimate vacation experience with exciting Napa activities.

Last time we visited it was at the end of summer and we spent our days drinking dry wines and jalapeño margaritas from their food truck by the pool. This visit was much different since the second we checked in we were transported to a winter wonderland right in the middle of Napa Valley. Greeted by a stunning tree and a cold glass of champagne upon check-in quickly reminded me why I love Vista Collina so dang much.

During check-in we were told of all of the amazing festivities that were happening at the resort and were blown away! During the month of December they are hosting Merry Meritage which is Wine Country’s only Winter Village! Merry Meritage is adorned with a majestic Christmas tree, holiday market and premier outdoor ice-skating rink.The ice-skating rink is open now until Jan 2nd, 2022. you can expect a 100% chance of snow every evening at 6pm while you skate with family and friends, purchase beer and wine from their on-site tasting rooms to enjoy rink side, and purchase one of their fire pit areas or igloos to stay warm.

I also recommend asking for a room with a view of the Ice Skating Rink. It seemed like almost all (if not all of the rooms) offered this view and it is one you don’t want to miss out on. At night we were in the middle of a winter wonderland and in the mornings our view was of a quiet ice rink ready to bring holiday cheer with rolling hills of vineyards in the background.

We would sit out at night while the baby was sleeping enjoying wine, cheese and a cigar from the on-site grocery store. Then in the mornings we would come out and enjoy our coffee while my daughter excitedly yelled “CHRISTMAS TREE” over and over. Even my two year old was blown away by the view and really felt the magic in the resort.

We had pictures with Santa, went Ice Skating, drank a ton of incredible wine, and ate at the 5-star on-site restaurant: Olive & Hay. For late night snacks we either stopped by the grocery store right outside our room or called up room service (which you can also order wine, cocktails, beer, and even a facial regimen from their spa!) A feature underestimated is the TV also has Netflix so on nights you are relaxing or needing to entertain the kids, you can put on their favorite Netflix show. I ADORE with hotels offer this so we are not stuck watching local news channels and it really enhances our stay.

And if you can’t make it before Christmas, fear not! Vista Collina is throwing an EPIC New Year’s Eve party we are itching to come back for. A Masquerade evening awaits you at our New Year’s Eve celebration with several events to ring in 2022.
